Author Topic: An On-Rail Shooter esq. Gamemode?  (Read 802 times)

/title

A Rail Shooter is a shooter where you can't move, however, you're automatically moving on a set path, shooting at whatever comes your way.
To see this in Blockland would be loving awesome. Can somebody do this?

EDIT: Achieved with zones (force of 9000 in the direction you want makes you go REALLY FAST in the air, but at a more normal pace when on the brick) and no movement playertype

Could be possible with no movement playertype and a whole lot of eventing, but what about bot accuracy? Standing in one place while getting shot at by bots isn't fun because of how accurate they are.

This could be fixed by not having so many bots on screen, and making them only have 1 HP.
Also, you could have high HP (like 1000 or something, could be done with Z_ZserverNewHealth or something) and having multiple healing stations on the track.

If you're already including a no movement playertype, you've already have the means to adjust the health without requiring any additional scripts.

Isn't no-movement default? I can't figure out which addon it's from if it isn't.
Also, the bot-accuracy thing would be moot if you did something in the style of Mad Dog McCree, where it's one-shot-kills on both sides (and based on difficulty, it pauses when it's time to take a shot or die), simply scripting the bots to fire exactly when the player is where they're shooting.
