Author Topic: Obama: "There are things I suspect I’m able to do better" without “constraints"  (Read 2060 times)

Thats the bullstuff people like to peddle, but in reality the house and senate was spineless and rarely got in Obama's way
In theory, Obamacare would work, but this would require a huge funneling of federal spending towards health care. Whenever Obamacare was in need of funds, a lot of federal judges would deny it the funds which resulted in the increased cost of health care for a while. It has a lot of problems that would have to be ironed out simultaneously, but by itself it doesn't actually work.

When you look at progressive countries that have free health care, you notice that taxes are a little higher, but you also notice that they aren't spending 700 billion dollars on their military. With a bit of smart, non-ALEC/NRA involved funding reworks, you could have a working health care system that would be accessible to a lot of people. Unfortunately, the group that kisses the most ass to arms companies is the GOP, and currently we have a president who represents this platform.

In theory Annoying Orange would have lost and Britian would stay in the EU

Not even close to "a little bit" I live in one of these countries

Yeah because the US is practically paying for their protection.

You don't want Canadian-esque healthcare. You will die in the waiting room. And thats in a country with a tenth of the population. Thats not even touching on the worst of it.

US's military budget is one of the most absurd things on this entire planet. The government funnels almost 50% of all their spendable money into defense, which is clearly overkill, especially when you're only enemy is a ragtag terrorist group in god knows where. It's one of the main reasons why every other infrastructure in this country is stuff.

I wouldn't? You know i'm not even a canadian citizen, and one time when i was traveling through canada I had an asthma attack (it was really cold.) I went to one of the walk-in hospitals, and they were able to treat and prescribe medication to me in less than an hour, at only 80$. Here, I have to go through the emergency room and wait 3-4 hours before they are able to treat me, and the bill totals about 700$ with medical insurance. Wanna explain to me why canada's health system is as 'broken' as you say?

yeah i was off. 1000$ a week is a little absurd as well...

Yeah because the US is practically paying for their protection.
The US paying 700 billion for defense is like me paying a thousand dollars every week to own a gun.

The US military budget isn't just for America. They also have to protect other countries that sit around with their "free" healthcare.
