They removed the sub because it's a loving headache of moderation and it was easier to remove it and deal with the tiny fallout than let a bunch of mouth-breathing chimps napalm everything to solve their stupid conspiracy theory meme. Goddamn.

Against the rule of witchhunting? The sub was focused on the people in the ring itself or various related rings in the past (such as the Franklin case or the UK ring). The Podestas, Alefantis, and the Clintons may be a large part of it, but that's because its an investigation of what they may have done, so of loving course its going to include them. The argument that it's witchhunting is invalid because that's what every investigation is, searching through evidence related to certain people. Besides that, its using public information, so not like its a dox.

"Free to remove it regardless" is a bit of a stretch.

Just because I disagree with something doesn't mean I can delete it.

There is no "tiny fallout", the entire subreddit of r/The_Donald is against them now and the story of u/spez editing comments is now at the front of the site. They're right when they say that some credibility of Reddit is out the window now that its known the admins can shadow-edit any post to say whatever they want.

What if the posts on r/pizzagate were edited? There were already hoaxes and troll accounts trying to disjoint the investigation efforts and stuff the sub up, plus there was uproar in the community itself about how the mods of the sub might be censoring information. Seems like a perfect time to change stuff you don't like and use it as an excuse to delete the sub. Keep in mind that this all comes merely days after the same thing happens on twitter.

So yes, its kind of a big deal. If that makes us 'loving handicapped', so be it.
IkeTheGeneric:
The admins on reddits are huge cunts who are guilty of selective moderation, but I gotta be honest here, if I was in their shoes I would have nipped the pizzagate stuff in the bud asap. It's like everyone forgot how reddit handles their little "investigations" every time their dumb witch hunt is interrupted by something.

Also no, this pizzagate thing isn't a big deal, it's just a bunch of loosely tied together conspiracy theories perpetuated by the fallout of the presidential election. I dunno how anyone can reasonably believe half our federal government is covering up a child enthusiast ring and using pizza slang as a codeword specifically to leave a clue trail behind for internet sleuths.

Admittedly Reddit can get off the chain with investigations sometimes, such as when they looked into the Boston Marathon Bombing and pinned it on some random college student who had nothing to do with it and patted themselves on the back. This is true, but not every case on the site will be like this, and it isn't okay for these mods who have been known to censor, edit, and delete what they don't like to straight up get rid of it because they don't agree with it.

These "loosely tied together conspiracy theories perpetuated by the fallout of the presidential election" are all too close to be a coincidence. Mainly that, the people involved know each other/ work together, work in a close proximity and their recreational activities all line up very creepily in theme. For example, spirit cooking and cannibal "art" hanging in both the Podesta's house and in Comet Ping Pong, a family restaurant run by Alefantis). Also, the fact that all possible evidence on the instagram for Comet Ping Pong and the youtube video of the Majestic Ape/Heavy Breathing band performing child enthusiasm themed music are deleted as soon as they're discovered makes this suspicious. This is just a tiny drop in the bucket.

It isn't outrageous that "half our federal government is covering up a child enthusiast ring and using pizza slang" because the same thing has happened before in the UK with Jimmy Saville and with Paul Bonacci in the Franklin ring. Pizza slang isn't used "as a codeword specifically to leave a clue trail behind for internet sleuths". As seen with the FBI report on imagery for child enthusiasts, the handkerchief code, and various slang words such as chickenlover, these words and images are used to discreetly communicate with other creeps to describe preference and discuss meetings. Do you think that child enthusiasts would honestly just directly talk about raping kids?

I get that it sounds outrageous but it could potentially be something very big. Despite being formerly hosted on /pol/ and r/the_donald, this is a non-partisan issue. This is focused on the ring and children who could be getting hurt, it just happens to have Clinton campaign managers involved.

every time I see a link to an image on the Reddit backup somewhere with pictures related to this it gives me a 404 page
