in all seriousness these are always the recommendations i give: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mob Psycho 100/One Punch Man, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. those are some good, solid animeys. also worth mentioning is berserk 1997 or the berserk golden age movies. theyre decent but the manga is like way better
like the anime for golden age is like 7 or 8/10 and the manga is 11/10 if that makes sense
don't watch berserk 2016 though please

also ghost in the shell is pretty good but im still watching it

attack on titan: main character yells a lot and it's annoying but it's a really good show anyways

full metal alchemist brotherhood: my favorite jap cartoon for sure but the main character has the same problem as above. more humor thrown in around it tho so it's not really as bothering

tokyo ghoul: love it but the main character is a cringelord

sword art online 1 and 3 because 2 sucks and u don't rly need it to watch 3: main character will also make you cringe but not as often. i will also mention that 3 has a lot of underage asscrack in it so beware

naruto was my guilty pleasure for a while but i just ended up playing ninja storm which basically told me the rest of the story without the filler

don't watch re:zero as your first. it starts out as the typical stuff you'd expect and you'll get turned off real fast.

also steins;gate isn't really the war related fighting anime you're looking for but it is really good so I'm going to suggest it as well.
