Joining a server makes my PC's internet kill

For some reason, whenever I join a server, during the loading time, I end up having my PC think my internet has... no internet.

I've gotten a lot of joins and then periods of freezing recently but game eventually responds. What happens after you wait some time? Or do you just completely lose Internet?

Waiting still leaves it thinking there's no internet, whilst there is.
Also, what does freezing have to do with my problem?
