Author Topic: Whats better? Image shack or Imgur?  (Read 1627 times)

Imageshack slaughtered any amount of respect people had for it when it purged all non-paying users' photos. It's why a lot of old add-on threads are filled with a bunch of invalid image links.

I use puush for quick, temporary shots and Photobucket for anything I want to stick around. I feel like I'm alone in my use of PB though.

i use gyazo cause i'm a forgetboy

i used to use gyazo but i switched to puush when they started hounding me to buy gyazo ninja or whatever

Puush > Imgur > everything else > Imageshack

typically imgur but for large-file-size gifs i use xomf

imgur by far
i can deal with compression, it pisses me off whenever i see imageshack's "photo does not exist" picture

imgur because imageshack is broken ass

well it seems like photobucket has the same deal as imageshack where they're always missing whenever you see them posted somewhere

photobucket deletes images without a minimum number of views a certain period of time. its a pretty low requirement but it means super old topics that used photobucket now have dead pictures

I used to use Imageshack
Then they removed my images and insisted I upgrade my account
they didn't just remove my images--THEY REPLACED THEM WITH ADVERTISEMENTS.

starfishs. i'm not going to buy 'imageshack premium' or whatever the hell. you have no ground to do that when you're already getting swollowed by imgur. so i left to imgur, and it's been so much better.

it was disrespectful to remove images, but it was an absolute slap in the face to their users to begin replacing them with advertisements.

imageshack or another hosting site removes all your images and replaces them with ads when they expire.

you can clearly see the superior choice now, no?

edit: in fact, when searching "imageshack ads" on google, a blockland forums post is the 2nd image to show up on the main page, and first on the images page.

Do you have evidence of this? I can't find anything online and have never seen that happen to my photos. If that's true I'll likely switch to Imgur.
