I believe that you should consider your word choice, the audience's reaction to an opinion depends on how it's been written.  In your case, when you said "forget age consent!" people would just assume that you're shabby with humor and that we can infer that you're that kind of guy who just needs to stop, like really man, be careful of what you say.
