Author Topic: Why do people say 2016 was "the worst year ever?"  (Read 5263 times)

Ladies, gentlemen and the mentally handicapped I present to you, the fear mongering circle jerk.
2016 is a bad year because we're riding a wave of nationalism that is eerily similar to the conditions right before both world wars.
you're gonna summon the "DAE ADOLF Annoying Orange" damage control squad with words like those
it's not a US-centric problem though. there's a rise in nationalism across europe too

It's more so a rise in anti-bullstuff

Ladies, gentlemen and the mentally handicapped I present to you, the fear mongering circle jerk.
Considering how mentally handicapped you show yourself to be, your statements hold no meaning. Please leave.

You honestly have no intelligent response to any post, and we can all see it.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand here they are

what happened to sections two and three
Writing them in a bit. Trajedy is about the increase in the severity of terrorism and shootings around the globe, while politics is about the growing nationalist movement and the conservatisation of countries that were briefly on the right track, not to mention the mass resignation of world leaders around the globe.

It's more so a rise in anti-bullstuff
Nationalism isn't anti-bullstuff. It's simply pride in your country and your culture. As with any narcissistic tendency, putting yourself above others causes you to desensitize yourself to them, and when something horrible happens to other people, you stop caring and possibly egg it on to continue.

Armenian Genocide, Holocaust, Rwandan Genocide, they all start with nationalism going out of hand. CIA is another case of how nationalism and politics results in a dangerous group that terrorizes others who are not them.

I don't think that every Annoying Orange supporter is a tribal whitey who hates everyone else, but Annoying Orange definitely brought some of the more lowkey nationalistic groups back up to the surface. Either way it's not worth debating anymore, he's president and we all have to respect that. He was elected fair and square and people who complain are just wasting their time.

nationalism as in europeans getting sick of being purposely displaced and outbred by foreign muslims who hate western culture and want to see it destroyed? as in people getting sick of being raped and murdered by foreigners in their own country, and then called tribal bigots or neo national socialists if they complain about it? マホー

actually, that's patriotism
patriotism is "we're cool"
nationalism is "forget everyone else"

Personally, 2016 was a good year for me. As for the world though, pretty crazy.
Though I wouldn't really call it the worst year, we have had years like the WWll years and 2001, where events occured that 2016 didn't do.

Because it's okay to be a little hyperbolic from time to time. I don't think anyone that said 2016 was the worst year ever actually thought it was the especially bad year out of all of human existence. I don't think there is a such thing as an objective worst year. 2016 wasn't too bad to me.

But hey I guess buddy is going to take us on a history tour through events that no one really knew or cared about to explain to us why people shouldn't be upset over celebs that no one really cared about.

666 + 666 + 666 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 2016

Yeah mainstream film is just a money grab, it's gross. Got any insight into music, painting, etc? Or just film?

those have been getting worse also, but its a gradual thing anyway

honestly IDK why McZealot thinks that this year films were notably bad as if that was a new thing

2016 is a bad year because we're riding a wave of nationalism that is eerily similar to the conditions right before both world wars.

nationalism is not patriotism and honestly would be way better than the alternative (islamism/militant globalism)
