apparently i'm a "know it all" in people's eyes when i correct them on something

because of the imple fact that very few people have the gift of "teaching" without coming across as an Assburger

if you're a richard when you correct someone, they might call you a richard. some people take corrections badly no matter what though, so i guess just try to be polite.
