So, uh, I saw this film (it was not my idea) and the Gorillas were roosterey British. Not black. I think that makes them tribal for assuming that gorrillas are African American.

I expected to despise it since all the music choices were terrible aside from a few songs they picked that didn't come out in the last 4 years. But I'd give it a mediocre rating instead. I really despised how they took all the characters with unique styles like the hedgehog who sang metal or the gorilla who did slow soul music and instead gave them all stuffty pop songs to sing for the finale. The rat was really irritating and I guess I was supposed to root for him even though I wanted him to die so that was really awkward, but he did give by FAR the best performance at the end. Kinda awkward that they built up elephant girl all the movie and then she does the worst song of them all. 6/10, they make some really good choices in a few areas (I liked that the rat never had a moral revelation) but most of it was incredible generic.
