Shyamalan's "Split" boycotted for "portrayal of mental illness, common sense"

well, yes
not really because of the movie alone but it will reinforce the beliefs they already have
Mega-Bear:
A real life transgender person is not scary, nor is somebody with mental illness. A fictional character who has 24 different personalities, one of which being a non-human beast (as the trailers suggest), and who kidnaps people is scary without a doubt. I don't see anything actually harmful coming from this movie... this is an overreaction by people looking to be offended.

can people seriously not think for themselves THAT much? i feel like people should be able to assess the movie situation and be able to realize it doesnt equate to most real life situations at all

like i get why it will make people think badly of people with these issues, but any sane person should be able to realize the absurdity of those thoughts immediately
e-maxx:
Remember when silence of the lambs got protested? Me neither.
But maybe that's because the movie is older than me.
