Many people think the U.S. is "diverse" because it has people of different national origins and races, but I'd say it's not very diverse at all. You probably live in a first world country where there's virtually no ideological diversity. If all we care about is "being happy" how are we any different than animals? --- End quote --- we are different from animals because we have the mental capacity to create, think, and reason. that's it. we're not some higher ascended being cast to overcome the beasts, we're animals that evolved. there is no set purpose in life except what you set for yourself. it's generally agreed that the final purpose in life is to live comfortably and/or doing something you enjoy doing. as far as i can figure, anyone who "rejects happiness" is just a self-righteous turd. but hey, if you find happiness in ""rejecting happiness,"" then good for you. |
