I feel like "art" should refer to stuff made for the common good and not for self-enrichment (e.g. money)
Whereas everything else would be "entertainment" or "decoration." Note that this designation isn't inherently negative.

that's why you double-major in engineering and arts kids
so you have a backup procedure in place

Double-major in business or accounting. Engineering is fine and all, but it isn't necessarily as much of a catch-all as business or accounting. stuff, all you have to do is get certified in excel or powerpoint.
