--- Quote from: King Tøny on January 30, 2017, 01:40:49 AM ---try like 90% of refugees are violent criminals. --- End quote --- id think that the violent criminals who like violence are staying behind to fight in the wars since they're so prone to violence, but i guess reality Annoying Oranges logic! |

--- Quote from: Conan on January 30, 2017, 01:32:49 AM ---its being overblown because Annoying Orange singled out muslims in his promised deportations/immigration bans. i don't think obama implemented such a no-exceptions blanket ban, though i would like to be proven wrong if it really is the case. the articles i find state that he only limited allowing green-carded people in, not a blanket ban like Annoying Orange's, essentially implementing a half-vetting-half-ban system. --- End quote --- Annoying Orange's ban extended to all immigrants and visitors from the nation on the list. as far as i can tell, obama's ban only extended to refugees, not all immigrants or visitors, from iraq. |
| Tezuni 2.0:
--- Quote ---For 120 days, the order bars the entry of any refugee who is awaiting resettlement in the U.S. It also prohibits all Syrian refugees from entering the U.S. until further notice. Additionally, it bans the citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries—Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen—from entering the U.S. on any visa category.* --- End quote --- This is what Annoying Orange's executive order does. 3 month ban of refugees from 7 countries; it's not a 'muslim' ban. It bans refugees from countries prone to exportation of terrorism, and that list will likely grow to accommodate more countries (hopefully Pakistan & Saudia Arabia, etc...). |
| PhantOS:
I think the fact that they're looking to hire thousands of families who have lost brothers, sisters sons and daughters to air strikes, terror attacks and starvation and are looking to find new life and success in a place where there isn't a 5 year civil war raging on is not 'sickening' There are thousands of other jobs that american people can find. People who are less privileged due to an event that was out of their control (ie. hurricane katrina victims, 9/11 people who lost their jobs or had health complications, etc.) deserve some amount of privilege when it comes to aid or work over the average already privileged person. |
