  • Can't play 90% of my game library.
  • Can't use any of my asset extraction tools.
  • Can't use any my game development tools (or at least, they aren't as stable as Windows/Mac).
  • Can't use any of my audio library management tools.
  • Can't use my video production tools.
  • Can't use my media file conversion tools.
  • Can't use my programming tools.
  • Can't use my writing and time management applications.
  • Can't escape the fact that by admitting I'm proud to use Linux as my main OS, I'm a pretentious knobwank.

im actually pretty sure that WINE has improved to the point where it can actually run a lot of stuff well
eg. the new doom runs not bad at all
yes, there are bugs and stuff, windows is still better for this stuff if you want to actually not fool around with crap to make things work

Why the forget would I use a "not an emulator" to run the stuff that I could just run natively? Yeah, I'd love to sacrifice additional performance AND even gain some additional bugs while running my applications. Smart idea.

There's literally no benefit to any flavour of Linux over Windows, aside from the purported "freedom" you gain, which is relatively zero benefit to the average user, or even most power users. Windows even has more features out of the box.

The only benefit Linux has is that it's free, but you get exactly what you pay for.
