tbh paint.net is better for photo editing than actual art.
it's missing a sensitivity brush for tablets; this was requested ages ago but the developers never got around to it

FireAlpaca's free as the air you breathe and is pretty nice so far. Steam version adds basically nothing.

No. Don't. Stop.
There is absolutely no difference between the website version and Steam version. No difference. Steam version is just a way to support the developers and having it attached to your Steam account along with measuring hours on it.
