"Right.  Seems like we have a right large island on our hands." Aǹni responds.
"I'll do what I can to gather some palm fronds."

With that, she embarks westward, where the sun will most likely cover the area for a while.  She scans the coast for proper palm fronds, and takes down what she can reach, carrying back several armfuls of palm fronds over several trips.

Over after there is quite a large amount amassed at the humble encampment, she begins gathering wood that would make a simple lean-to, and some also to serve as further firewood.

Additionally, she brings back a number of good rocks in the bag she received earlier from Volgya, with the purpose of shaping them into tools.

As Aǹni and Baumsen go their separate ways to gatrher fronds, Baumsen recalls his earlier encounter and begins to look for burnable wood along with fronds.

Alright, so since I as out and my phone was at like 9% most of the time, I'll recount discoveries.

Baumsen discovers the Thassin Cap.
Aǹni discovers the Breiga Berry.

Baumsen also sees a few D'aka fleeing deeper into the forest while on his search.

When returning to the camp, Aǹni approaches the holyman, "Shaman, what's ye name?" Aǹni says while beginning to set up a shelter, hitting a priming peg into the ground with a stone.

edit:  She continues to hammer the peg into the ground, pulls it out, then hammers in the priming peg at another location nearby.  She then bares some branches all except for the primary branch structures by either snapping them or beating them off with a rock, and then jams them into the ground, but then stops.  "Eh, d'we have means to proper lashings?"

In Gus's endeavors, he is able to find a sufficient amount of dry wood, in such number that taking all his possessions would be nigh impossible in attempting to carry its full volume.  He also finds a flint knife, from some now-dead's adventures, inherited from some conquered peoples far away; and it has somehow found its way into Gus's hands.

When he would arrive at the treeline, he would find that there are rather thick layers of moss on the trees' north face.

Additionally, he finds some unfamiliar Aphassus berries growing near the forest's edge, as well as some unknown dark red fruits, the tree of which has no moss on its trunk, and a lack of vegetation at it's base, save for a few vines growing along the trunk.  Additionally, he would also find a tall columnar palm tree with large nut-seeds growing atop.

Gusamius has discovered the Geor Fruit.
Gusamius has discovered the Helia Nut.

Gus' initial supply problem proves to be an initial block in his venturing forward. He furrows his brows, before deciding on a plan- as temporary as it is. Gus goes ahead and assembles a firepit, moving some of the wood into said pit before he's using the sailcloth to cover the rest of his cumbersome goods, being the vessel of oil, shield, and other fabrics, using the wood to hold down the sailcloth at its edges.

As he finds the flint knife, there's a moment of looking it over before Gus furrows his brows. "Tools of a barbarian, but it'll do." he says, grabbing it by its hilt and beginning to move into the treeline.

As he finds the moss, Gus goes ahead and begins to collect and fold some before carrying on. Gus stops as he comes across the bushels of Aphassus berries, looking them over with suspicion initially- only to earn a complaining growl from his stomach. With a sigh, Gus moves forward and gathers a handful before putting them in his mouth, eating them after feeling them over for a brief moment. Gus is pleasantly surprised by their tangy taste, and collects as much more into his bag as he can before he looks up and around, spotting the dark red fruits.

Gus goes ahead and begins to scale up the trees moving to retrieve and feel the fruits, collecting some before climbing back down. Gus moves along and stops near the large palm tree, looking up and eyeing the nuts growing atop of it. He stares for a moment before he begins to cut in a cross into its trunk to easily recognize it should he come across it again, as a landmark, before he begins to try and scale it to retrieve one of the nuts. Whether successful or not, after a while he'd simply begin to make back to his small encampment, collecting moss and small sticks along the way .

Once he arrives, he deposits the driest of the moss into a small pile, bringing over the sticks to roll his hands back and forth against each other, moving down the length of the sticks to try to light a flame to light his fire with.

"Not yet, no, but this island is lush with fibrous plants. I'm sure rope and twine can be made."

Baumsen continues, mentioning the arthropod he encountered earlier, and suggests fire as a means of warding them off.

Volgya, by the time they got back, would be halfway done skinning the slain beast.

With great satisfaction, he has the fire going.  The fruits feel smooth on the outside.

Baumsen continues, mentioning the arthropod he encountered earlier, and suggests fire as a means of warding them off.
"Aye, bet to stay away from these vile crawlers it seems.  Did it bite ye?" she says, as she quickly scans the forest's edge for both these strange creatures and any fibrous plants.

Volgya, by the time they got back, would be halfway done skinning the slain beast.
Aǹni's stomach growls, and she looks longingly at the slain pig.

As Aǹni sees the sun set, she kneels briefly and prays to Äauz for her daily provision and for the provision of her newfound company.

Volgya begins slicing out some choice cuts of the pork.  "Find some sticks and fire-harden their ends," he said.

Volgya begins slicing out some choice cuts of the pork.  "Find some sticks and fire-harden their ends," he said.
Aǹni does exactly that, sharpening a sick to a point by burning parts off and scraping it against a rock.

"Done!"

Egor wakes up very dizzy, so he stumbles around a bit while calling out for other people.
He is answered by the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore and the wind in the distant trees.  The barks and howls of some pack animals can be heard far in the distance.

"Alright, now we just... skewer a piece of meat, cook it over the fire."

Aǹni takes a piece of meat and skewers it on the stick, then holds it over the fire.

She watches the flames lapping over the pork; it sizzling and lapping higher when liquified fat drips onto the coals.  She watches it pensively for several minutes.

"We ought to stick together, you know."  She pauses, allowing the voices of the fire crackling and the muffled waves breaking in the distance to sound for a moment.  "I think we know that there's no one coming to gather us.  We may as well be here on our own."

Gus grunts, blowing gently on the burning moss before he settles it down underneath the wood within the fire pit, blowing in it until it all catches up into a pleasant crackling fire. Content, Gus sits back and looks up at the darkening sky.

Gus goes ahead and eats one of the Geor fruits he picked up, his eyes scanning across the treeline as he eats his fruit. Gus reaches down under his makeshift storage area under the sailcloth, and gathers some of his damp fabrics and brings them over and sets them down near the fire to dry off.

After eating his fill for the night, with some left over for tomorrow, Gus spends some time to simply stare out to sea through furrowed brows, thoughts running amok. For a moment, there's sadness, which turns to indifference, and eventually over to anger. Standing up Gus, takes some wood and some fabrics, stuffing dry moss under the fabric before he brings it over to light from the campfire, moving to head into the treeline to find a suitable branch for making a spear out of, before returning to camp to taper its end into a point and hold it over the fire to harden.

Once he's done, he'd take his newly created spear and snuff his torch out in the sand, before moving over to huddle under his sailcloth with his other goods to sleep.

To Gus's displeasure, he bites into the fruit and finds that there is a rather dense pit inside, and he hurts his teeth for a bit.
