I think you are greatly underestimating the positive effects it would have if everyone had a ready supply of food. the threat of starvation would be gone, and therefore, the largest problem that people face when it comes to insufficient income, would no longer be of any concern. sometimes up to hundreds of dollars a week, now with nowhere to go. this can instead go towards luxuries, like crazy ass microwaves
also dehydrated food is no big deal anyway

The microwave, but only because I don't want to see farmers lose their jobs to this few supply of food, which will also inevitably deteriorate into nothing, leaving more starvation than ever before.
