I'm not trying to defend him? People keep saying that Trog is saying people are doing it to spite others, even though he's trying to say Christians and other religions perceive it as spite

I'm trying to clear things up, not take sides.

its just terrible wording and a stereotyping of a response

its still weird that anyone would consider showing love to an unrelated party as spite (unless given good reason to expect that the one they know is), but thats the thing about religion. things some people (most people?) dont care deeply about can matter a lot to religious people
