yes, to stop spam. steam takes care of that on steam forums

sometimes

faq and sticked threads get ignored all the time on other discussions from what i've seen and suspect from people who dont bother to look

something this showy is a decent idea

Because who gives a stuff what's posted there? These are the official forums. If people want to raise issues/get help they should come here to do it.

Even if it was properly moderated it's still going to be more work for absolutely no gain

Because not everyone owns this game, some people just try the demo out and if they have a problem they go on the steam page for answers.
