sensitivity readers and editors are the reason why 'forget all mondays' doesn't end up in our children's books. honestly if you think removing NSFW and offensive stuff from certain books is 'censorship' you're literally autistic of course, if you're making a book that is intentionally offensive, it probably won't matter. these sensitivity readers are being hired to weed out offensive content in major book releases and stuff that they dont want to be offensive. |

You can't refer to someone as a handicap because it's, according to general public opinion, offensive to the mentally disabled, even though no one's insulting them directly, because that'd be dumb, because they're mentally disabled and can't control that. Having gorillas in jail is offensive because people think they're referring to black people. You can't show women in a bad light, or it's loveist. Which is offensive. Everything is offensive. |
