Germany LITERALLY implements "truck control" (gun control w/ trucks)

Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker said there would also be armed police guarding the carnival but said the festive spirit of the event would not be affected, Die Welt reports.
“Nobody should be afraid of participating in the street carnival,” Ms Reker said. Cologne is not the only city to increase security in their city centres. Bonn and Essen have erected concrete barriers to prevent trucks or cars from entering pedestrian areas and Dusseldorf is considering a similar ban.
Police in Cologne and Dusseldorf will be armed with submachine guns, though both cities have noted they have no evidence of being the target of any specific terror threats.

there are ways of doing that which don't involve banning trucks

That's different, though. We need planes to get us to and from different countries. You can't do that in a truck.
Though, to be fair, I suppose someone could just as easily kill people in a large car.

um they didn't ban trucks they restricted large trucks from driving through the city center during a festival to prevent a repeat of last years terrorist attack. that's not even remotely similar to gun control nor a bad idea. are you actually handicapped or are you just pretending to be stupid
