joining the military as a means to survive is still inherently dystopian and worrying.

no kidding. if colleges weren't run by businesses, more of them could be built, and there wouldn't be a need for colleges to exploit their students so that they could earn more money.
--- Quote from: beachbum111111 on February 28, 2017, 04:17:52 PM ---If you actually read the article France tried taxing the richer part of their population more and it backfired.

right, so we should just live in fear of the rich, knowing that god forbid we try to make them pay their fair share of taxes, they'll pull the rug out from under us? is that the kind of country you're ok with?

i think if you get a degree in like military specialist stuff like technology, electronics, operation and medical stuff they cover some of it.

http://time.com/money/4006227/gi-bill-college-tuition/
couple paragraphs in here that seems to cover how the military funds veterans going to college
--- Quote ---The Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits include up to 36 months of tuition and fees, a monthly housing allowance and a books and supplies stipend of up to $1,000 a year. For servicemembers to be eligible to use these benefits for themselves, they must have served at least 90 aggregate days on active duty after September 10, 2001
--- End quote ---
to be fair, that seems like it would cover most all your expenses, on top of veterans benefits individual universities and other scholarship programs provide

Sorry but people don't like getting their money stolen from them to pay for handicaps like you to get a degree that was a complete waste of time and money.

STEM was never a big field. You would be better off not going to uni at all in that case and saving yourself the money you wasted.
