| hillkill:
asking for a friend |
| PhantOS:
No. I take 3 online AP classes and they have the same credit worth as my regular high school classes, factor into my GPA and colleges look at it as a regular class |
| hillkill:
my friend thinks there are tiers and it goes from public/private school > ged > online school |
| Aide33:
No, not for highschool For university I say it matters, but for high school no one cares |
| RedGajin:
not less valid, but theres def a stigma that comes with online classes/GED's. youre regarded by both employeres and colleges as less motivated compared to normal graduates. with colleges, youll have to overcome an extra obstacle by proving yourself with your essay and act/SAT scores. with employers, they might not even ask you in for an interview if they see you just have you GED and a pretty average college record (depending on the job of course) it also depends on how many online classes your taking. like if your only taking online classes and basically being homeschooled, it probably doesnt look as good. but if youre taking like two online classes and theyre AP or college level classes like perry said, that looks better. |
