are degrees from online schools less valid than a public high school degree?

having taken two years of online school i can say it takes considerably more motivation than a regular school, along with a lot more self-responsibility

Depends on your definition of 'validity'. It absolutely looks worse on paper than a traditional diploma.

That being said, it's a million times better than no diploma at all.

i mean im sure they are, and thats something you could argue in an interview with a college/employer. im saying that a lot of dropouts also take online classes because its an easy way to graduate and they dont have to attend class everyday if at all. to an employer looking at a resume who doesnt know how credible whatever online hs you graduated from is or how hard the classes were (idk how that really works so i could be wrong), he might put your application aside

I'd argue that, to somebody who cares, private > public > online > GED
