also, i agree with nal's post. if this place brings you down/doesn't have the same feeling it used to for you, then take a break and possibly come back. it's not the best influence on everybody

VerticalHorizon:
I remember when controversial topics here were things like car.cs and RTB adding movers.

To me it seems like whenever I write an argument it feels like I'm being too blunt and that I could write it better somehow, but I don't want to put in the effort so I just delete it. Maybe I'm just too much of a pushover.

Semantics sucks... it really does. Normally what you believe to be a completely harmless statement could be astonishing or insulting to another person. What's worse is on the internet you can't hear the tone in people's voices, something that would normally show the difference between sarcasm and being serious.

I still remember those Friday afternoons, when I just arrived home from school. I threw my backpack in the corner of the room and loaded up this game. There was always something exciting going on, whether it was Ephi's bomb mod server for RTB, or hosting some nonsense servers.

I made plenty of friends ingame, however, I didn't bother too much with the forums until Retail. With all the TBM drama and other stuff going on, things were pretty hostile. I only became involved more actively on the forums after getting the Retail version and joining my clanmates once again. Honestly, I was sort of insufferable back then, I think I only calmed down when I turned 20.

I still miss those Friday afternoons. It wasn't the game that changed, however.
