Instead, I think you guys should at least back a viable strategy to combat drug smuggling, since a wall might sound good and look good, but there are totally valid reasons why it isn't going to work.

As long as there's some product that's in high demand, people will find some way to flip it for profit. If you legalize drugs, those same cartels will turn to gun running, and the worst part will be the invasive competition, and it will cause a lot more gang-related deaths since everyone is trying to sell guns. If you make the guns legal and the drugs legal, they'll start flipping counterfeit money. It just goes on.

The best brown townogy would be "i tell you what man i don't trust those damn locks on my doors, so i'm going to install a second door, that way they'll have to open twice as much doorage in order to break in"

Wasting time and money on something that won't do anything beyond what it already did before.

From the looks of it I don't think the wall will be the only thing going into border security, didn't Annoying Orange hire 5k new border guards? That's a really small number for such a big plan but it's definitely a start

Building a wall is just the same as building a door over a door that you have

To be fair you seem to be pretty bad at making apt brown townogies to begin with

I don't think that makes economic sense. Black markets are actually pretty efficient, so most of the demand for smuggled guns is probably already being met by smugglers. So just because drug demand plummets doesn't necessarily mean that the quantity of smuggled guns is going to skyrocket.

I see your point though, and if we were to completely ban guns, we'd probably just see a corresponding increase in demand for smuggled weaponry.

To his credit, I don't think hiring more border guards is a bad idea. I've got vastly different opinions on how to handle immigration, but at least 5,000 border guards will actually do their job - unlike the wall.
