just use a server provider that's reputable (i.e Linode, AWS) that has service contracts that they wouldn't risk pulling this bullstuff for, and run a VPN off of it.

why would you do it with AWS since amazon literally sells info anyways

because if amazon sells info from aws customers they've lost 90% of their business

but wasn''t it proven a while ago that all the big companies (amazon, facebook, google, etc.) sell user data to the govt or advertisers?

^ government uses AWS
like look at this
https://aws.amazon.com/solutions/case-studies/all/
if they sold data from ANY of those companies, the rest of them would jump ship immediately and or amazon would have a huge lawsuit on their hands especially because some of them include medical info which would violate HIPAA (or whatever I'm not a lawyer)
and AWS is HIPAA compliant: https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/hipaa-compliance/

i dont mean corporate data, just user data from people like you and me.
Im sure if the govt wanted anything from amazon they would bend over like google does with everyones search/browser history and emails.
It might not be specifially AWS but if a company literally stalks my shopping choices and gives that info to advertisers, I wouldnt trust them by setting up a VPN on their servers.
Idk this is entirely baseless but my point is its better to avoid the big tech companies becase they are more than likely cooperating with intelligence agencies.
This could go for literally any company though
