which is why i asked for clarification on why it doesnt seem to be an issue for armed forces in the hopes of someone who has actually been in the army or something to clarify.

They do nothing, and it is an issue. Hearing loss and tinnitus is common amongst veterans.

From some quick googling some do wear earplugs, but sometimes they don't even use them or have the time to put them on
