usually people naturally fill in silence with some form of white noise when it's not there naturally. not chronocally like tinnitus but its a relatively common phenomenon

A good example is how I refuse to sleep at night without a fan running, even if I don't need it to cool off.

I always have my cieling fan on. it gets too hot if it's off first of all
don't think noise is really a concern though. if I can't hear cars I can hear bugs or the wind

In my house, I either hear my dogs moving around or snoring when there is no sound. Silence makes me go insane, which is why I fiddle alot during school test.
