Haven't learned half the stuff on the SAT

that's muscle memory though, they do that stuff regularly
nobody cares enough or does advanced math enough to make it work like that

I think the issue with math is that it's too easy to teach people 'steps' to finish standardized tests rather than explaining what's actually going on. A couple of the explanations I wrote earlier in the thread are too step-wise, but people who work 5 days a week in schools should try to teach comprehension rather than 'correctness'.

yeah i don't ever recall being taught "theory" of math. i was just taught to solve a particular problem this way, or i would find an easier shorter way to do it.
