I'd have thought that Historical Epics were more my thing, but to be honest I find them difficult to get into.
You either have the old true Epics, like Lawrence of Arabia, Spartacus or Cleopatra, which are so long and massive that they're frightfully boring and you only look forward to that one big action scene with 3000 extras that you can supposedly see someone get actually stabbed in.
Or, you get the more modern films that have much smaller budgets and are juicier shorter films, but they grossly mispresent the history in favour of the time limit or the ease of the script.
Whereas Romcoms do include some complete trite, and you can play bingo with the cliches of the genre, but they are pretty harmless and can give a good laugh.
I'm less likely to fail to finish a romcom, or come out with a long list of how inaccurate it is. So I guess I have to choose Romcom.
