one of the larger parts of the ACA mandates that you have to buy Obamacare (a service) or pay a fine
the government explicitly does not have that power, as written in the Constitution
I mean did you see how many people freaked out when Annoying Orange endorsed his daughter's clothing line?

you're right
the supreme court ruled that the mandate that I just mentioned was constitutional because they weren't really punishing you for not buying into the service (even though they were)
the way they ruled on that case means that if doug dimmadome became president and mandated that you go to the dimmsdale dimmadome at 5:30 in the morning every day or you'd pay a fine, then it would be perfectly legal for him to do so

If I don't want heath care then I shouldn't have to pay about a loving 500 dollar fine each month.

Why would Obama force that? I'm not a loving car.

--- Quote ---How much the Obamacare penalty costs

The penalty’s cost is calculated in one of two ways: You’ll either pay a percentage of your total household adjusted gross income — which you’ll figure on your annual tax return — or a flat rate, whichever is greater. Your tax return will also help you determine your penalty amount.

Each year, the penalty will increase to keep pace with inflation and encourage people to buy coverage.

For tax year 2016, the penalty will rise to 2.5% of your total household adjusted gross income, or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child, to a maximum of $2,085.

For tax year 2017 and beyond, the percentage option will remain at 2.5%, but the flat fee will be adjusted for inflation.

while I sort of agree with this

the same argument can be applied to car insurance too

Different.

Some people just want to die. Why do they have to pay a 500 dollar "I don't care if I live" tax?
