I cut out everything that was based on the misguided idea I was talking about ISPs as in the people who provide your internet service, not services on the internet.
Stupid ambiguous language.

steam suggesting you games has nothing to do with your ISP, thats just Steam gathering games that you normally play/look at.
youtube is showing you 1000 degree knife videos because they're popular and youtube's algorithm is broken, nothing to do with your ISP

ISP, which stands for internet service provider, means provider of internet service; i.e., they provide to you the service of access to the internet
internet service (along with many other names) means a service on the internet
