honestly i feel like i should stop caring about making modpacks that are minimal or slimmed down, manymods will win out in the end
ill keep hosting legends for a while and then who knows whats going to happen next - over summer break i plan to host either manymods3 revisited or manymods6 or something

galacticraft was pretty much the last thing i did in the last pack, i focused mostly on minechem
edit: oops that was MM3, MM4 was chromaticraft and rotary/reactorcraft. i didn't play MM5

MM5 main target was probably extreme power generation obtained via Rotary/Reactor Craft.
MM4, I forget? I believe that was the Chromaticraft pack which very few people enjoyed due to it, however to me it was quite fun, better than thaumcraft imo.
MM3R, avaritia, yet to be obtained and seems as if most people want this to be hosted again.
MM3 diamond dimension at the end, space race at the beginning I believe.
Prior versions I do not know since I don't believe I have played them.

Pretty much the same in every other mod pack in some aspect.
