If you opened a paypal account before you were 18, close it now.

i really just use paypal as a quick easy-to-use online method of payment for me and my grandmother, I store no money onto it and I don't even remember being asked for an age when signing up, but I can assure you that my birthday isn't registered to it. it's obviously pretty sleezy what they did to this guy and some others, sure, but why should I follow this call to arms to close it? or is closing it pretty much just a concern for people below 18 who used their real birth dates for their own accounts

I guess it's moreso for people who receive payments through it
If you're only using it to send payments and never keeping a balance, then it probably doesn't matter

I'm someone who opened my account around when I was 14ish. I never had a problem using their services, and once I was 18 and eventually tied my bank account to PayPal, and I used it to easily pay or transfer cash over from someone to my bank account. I saw this post up on Reddit and people said they just contacted PayPal with identification and had their account reinstated.

square is getting a lot more popular, i've noticed it more and more in stores around my area
