so, microsoft just announced their hot new surface laptop https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/productID.5102691100 and oh boy it has some issues the baseline model: runs a limited version of windows 10 that forces you to use apps from the windows store, thus meaning pretty much you cannot run 99.99999 percent of windows applications and you're forced to use microsoft edge (and you'll probably have bing shoved down your throat!). while they may be letting you upgrade to windows 10 pro for free, this is a limited time offer, and then after that you'll be forced to pay $50 to get the pro version which actually lets you run win32 applications only has 4 gigabytes of memory only has 128 gigabytes of storage oh, and i almost forgot: costs $1000 microsoft, are you drunk? you can easily buy a laptop cheaper than $1000 that actually has a good amount of memory and storage, and i almost forgot, allows you to run apps not from the windows store right out of the box without paying extra $$$ have you looked at apple and decided "hm, they're overpricing subpar products, shouldn't we do what they're doing?" /discuss |
