Author Topic: how do you/did you stop biting your nails????  (Read 5149 times)

You just find something else to suck on/chew on instead ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
well, honestly, this would work

even after getting braces i continue to chew my nails

Try that nail polish that tastes like stuff

sup i was a nailbiter all my life till april
i stopped cold turkey, just like cigarettes.
it worked

i subconsciously do it because of anxiety and i have no way of stopping it
my nails look like stuff

Fiancée also has a nasty habit of this.  Would definitely like to know because nothing seems to be working other than she doesn't seem to want to try.

I only bite my nails because I loving hate clippers

I started cracking my fingers

Simple. When you want to bite your nails, don't bite your nails. At that point you think to yourself, "I control my actions forget yeah!" Then, subconsciously pat yourself on the back and get back to work.

This method applies to many things in life.

she doesn't seem to want to try.
either you remove her teeth or the other ridiculous things mentioned or you make her want to try to stop

sup i was a nailbiter all my life till april
i stopped cold turkey, just like cigarettes.
it worked
congratulations on having willpower

I stopped biting my nails because I just resisted biting my nails.

Straight up the second they get long enough for you to bite and you notice yourself biting them cut them with nail clippers and paint them with a coat of clear strengthening polish.
Cutting them will keep you from being able to bite them and will help your nails to grow back thicker and stronger and the clear polish will make them kind of chewy and unsatisfying to bite on and also help to strengthen your nails so when you do eventually quit they won't break off all the time (I'm struggling with that atm and it suuuucks)
Just be careful not to cut yourself & if you can really get under there even if they're short file those bad boys instead of using clippers until you kick it enough so that you can have a teeny bit of nail and not be tempted to get at them.

I don't really Bite my nails, I just peel them. I don't know why I do it, but I've been doing it since I was 4.
