Author Topic: teen titans go takes up the largest runtime on cartoon network  (Read 9287 times)

why do you think you can watch knd or billy and mandy? because they were designed for children and adults alike. it's not about disliking TTG for the humor, it's the fact it has all the "lel random" bullstuff that entices kids to make their parents keep CN on their cable.
KND and billy and mandy were produced in the early-mid-2000s. science has already proven that societal trends change as time progresses, and with it the interests of children. that's why hoolahoops and easy bake stuff was popular for kids in the 70s but isnt popular anymore.

the best way i can summarize it is  'kids these days.' its not that TTG is worse than KND or Xiaolin Showdown, but it's that you grew up watching KND and stuff like that, which was specifically made to target your generation, while TTG is made to target this generation of adolescents.

there were definitely 17 year olds back in 2006 that thought ed edd n eddy wasn't funny, but what matters is that there were kids like us during that time that thought ed edd n eddy was funny. that's why they made it, so they could get our viewership. now CN has TTG so that they can get the viewership of today's youth, and it works for them.

easy bake isnt popular anymore because people got severely injured
and if they wanna target adolescents, they should go to loving nick jr. or some stuff like that next to blues clues where ttg belongs

the difference is that shows like ed edd n eddy didn't teach bad morals, offer special interest material or bastardize an already good cartoon to make it "more child friendly", then proceeding to turn around and insult all the old fans saying "they just don't get it"

this idea of "child-friendly" being lazily-written, watered-down filler needs to loving die
Neverending Story is a kids movie, yet you have a horse drown in mud on-screen and a demon wolf who wants to slice up and devour the main character, a little kid, as an on-screen presence the entire movie

timeless classic

ed edd and eddy felt bizarre and stupid to me, esp with how stupid all 3 of the main characters are. its was like watching stupid people forget themselves over to me. sure their stupid antics didnt end up with them somehow being successful (usually) but i felt like the show overall presented a bad example rather than a good one.

current shows tend to forego giving any sort of example at all, just being silly and unbelievable and tropey.

at this point we're all being that stereotypical parent whos like "these shows are stupid and need to stop" - its always been this way for every generation (as well as always having a few shows be the exception), and probably always will be.

that's your interpretation, but I saw three swindlers getting their asses kicked in the end of each episode to be a good moral of "don't be a cheapskate-starfish"

nothing being encouraged/discouraged here nope just your favorite (underage) superheroes going to town

except now the show "adults just don't get" is stifling all other development on the channel and insulting everyone who disagrees with it

hey man dont diss blues clues

About time someone made a thread about this.
TTG is just trash, even the creator said it was

stupid
They are just pumping pure autism into the kids who were sucked into it, and I don't see why they like it so much, from its stupid songs in the middle of an episode, that makes no sense, to the leg special interest bullstuff.
CN is dead, and it has been since that show came on.

for easter weekend cartoon network literally aired nothing but teen titans go back-to-back for 2 days

lol really? in the NL we had a gumball marathon for easter weekend

strange how they offer variety in the NL but not in the US where they're based

probably just based on whatever is popular in a certain country

gumball gets aired like 7 times a day in the NL, i think it's the most popular CN show here
