If you don't know how to play and don't want to google it, here's some basic info:

From left to right
Pawn
Moves 1 space forward. Can do 2 on it's first move.
Captures diagonally forward.
If it reaches the enemy side, it can upgrade into any other piece.

Rook
Moves any amount of spaces cardinally.

Knight
Moves in an L shape; 2 spaces cardinally, then 1 space to the side of that.
Can jump over other pieces, but can only capture where it lands.

Bishop
Moves any amount of spaces diagonally.

King
Moves 1 space in any direction.
If the king can be captured on the next turn, you MUST move it. (Check)
If the king can't move anywhere without being captured on the next turn, it's an instant loss. (Checkmate)
If the king is currently safe, but can't move to a different spot and there is no other piece to move, it's a draw. (Stalemate)

Queen
Moves any amount of spaces in any direction.

You can also use some of the lesser-known moves.

A majority needs to agree on a movement for a piece to move.
If nobody can agree on anything, I'll randomly choose anything you suggested.

Acceptable movements:
Blank to X#/#X.
X#/#X. to X#/#X.*
Blank forward/back/left/right/etc # spaces.
Blank to capture blank.
X#/#X. to capture blank.*
(Variants are allowed, but generally should be done like this)

X is a horizontal amount, starting from the left: A B C D E F G H
# is a vertical amount, starting from the bottom: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

*Pawns MUST move like this.

You guys are the white pieces, so you go first.

TableSalt:

Nobody else going to post? If not, I'm just gonna do a coin flip for this turn.
