what if instead of just bans, there were also gags (don't take it seriously)

a gag prevents a user from being able to post or send PMs at all. they are essentially unable to communicate anything. this is basically what a ban is now.
a ban with tapes included effectively prevents you from seeing anything at all. you're redirected to a blocked page, and you can't log out (although you could clear cookies unless it's a IP ban, but badspot never really does those since anyone could bypass it via proxy or VPN, or unplugging the modem for a while). you're able to see things again when your ban expires.
i'm not saying "make this happen" but it's just a thought. i've seen some forums do this and i just wonder what's the forum's opinion on something like this possibly existing

would gag be a more fitting name?
