That Religion Thread: Is it okay to absorb bits of other religions into yours?

I suppose I'm not aiming for any particular afterlife. If the way I live is good enough and some deity actually exists then that'd be nice, but I as a person have no way of knowing which religion is the religion and so I have no idea who or how I'm meant to practice the religions.
I've evaluated my options and it seems like the best way to win the afterlife game is to continue on as if it didn't matter. I live as best as I'm able. If there is a god, hopefully he'll be understanding of my decision.
