That Religion Thread: Is it okay to absorb bits of other religions into yours?

i don't think i understand what you're saying. rapists don't get protection from the law by claiming their religion allows it, they get put in jail for being rapists. having the thought of doing something illicit does absolutely nothing harmful to anyone

This is just semantics done to try and make it seem like there is a 'Better way to handle it' when in reality you're doing the same thing, with

What? Racism and religion? What are we jumping straight to Islam?
forget Islam. I hate it. It's oppressive to women and homoloveuals and promotes ideological superiority. But we're a nation of freedom. Muslims are free to practice their stuff religion. What they aren't free to do is go around raping people and practicing FGM and all the other stuff that goes on in Islamist countries, and that's because we have laws in place against that kind of stuff. That was my point. We don't need to ban stuffty religions because the stuffty practices in those religions are already outlawed. Religious freedom laws do not protect anyone from doing illegal stuff.
