Mostly because the guy who coined the term gender was a psychopath who performed horrible experiments on children, both of which committed Self Delete and the experiments turned out to be a complete failure which worked against the concept of gender instead of proving it.

they didn't get wrong at all, though, the show said nothing about gender. only love. i don't think anyone has ever argued that love is not determined by your chromosomes, because they would be wrong.

Did you seriously see what you just wrote? Yeah, did you? This is what snopes loving does. They claim stuff is false and then they word it specifically so they are technically right about claiming it "false."
So on the internet. people are claiming that Bill Nye's old episode about gender was censored. Snopes says this is wrong, it never happened. How do they justify this? They claim he specifically said love not gender. So by one word, one loving word they claim this censorship was false out of a technicality. Snopes is right, for the wrong reason.
Also let's forget the fact that in the 90s love and gender were considered to be the exact same loving thing, if you want to get technical that is.
