it's worth noting that this has nothing to do with congress. the fcc is independently deciding whether or not they will change their own rules, and the decision to begin the rule making procedure passed 2-1 along party lines. it's highly likely that this will be enacted unless FCC republicans are convinced to vote the other way, and i suspect this will not happen

JUST FOR THE RECORD:
The head of the FCC really, really wants this to happen. He initially said "Oh yeah, this isn't a set vote, we'll listen to the comments we get" and then when the comments were OVERWHELMINGLY pro-net-neutrality he went on to say that he gave zero stuff about the comments. Do I need to say who appointed him (a loving lawyer for verizon), and who can un-appoint him at any time for this absolutely disgraceful move.

But, on the bright side. THIS PROBABLY WON'T WORK. In order for it to go through they have to prove in court that the market has changed sufficiently in the past 2 years to warrant this change.

They can't prove that, under any circumstances, because it flat out hasn't changed in such a way to warrant that, of course.

Why don't they just forget off and go back to investigating that stuff happening between Annoying Orange and Russia
