If the job market where you are is tough then there are definitely people putting out a lot more applications than that. |

Go in to the interview wearing black slacks, a black shirt and black dress shoes. Combine that with a plain dark purple silk tie or a plain orange tie. Also make sure you're wearing a belt. When I was interviewing a long time ago for a National Sales Director position with Dish they immediately pointed out how different I was compared to other candidates strictly from the style of clothing. This combined with a near "silver-tongue" dialogue got me the position without even finishing the interview. The entire idea is to make sure that you're different. Stand out. Even though you may have a natural pessimistic outlook, if you stand out it gives off an aura of confidence. That will honestly and truthfully get you recognition. Speak clearly and smoothly. Don't stutter. If they ask you a question about how you'd handle a situation... bullstuff with them. Joke around first and that will give you a few extra seconds to think about the question and respond in a unique way. Also, use Indeed to find work. My suggestion is to go into sales. You get money and experience. Sales is literally the most useful field you can get in as far as experience and references goes. From personal experience, sales can lead into any job you want. Within reason of course. |
