desktop =/= laptop

also more than likely the optiplex is old and its a prebuilt so ofc a psu is going to be very picky

Trust me Dell laptops are the complete opposite of stuff. There's a reason why every school in the US uses their brand, and the reason why they're still around today with multitudes of people recomending them. I've tried one out myself too, the brand is very solid in laptops.

i have a dell desktop and ive had it for 8 years, no issues apart from fixing/replacing the graphics card and the network adapter but that's pretty normal
