Pretty much all genres of music are connected to rock n roll in one way or another. I mean rock and roll was pretty much pioneered by African Americans beginning all the way back in the 1700s with call and response songs sung by black slaves. Eventually it branched out into blues and folk and jazz and eventually became what you consider "rock and roll" (Nirvana, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith). The things you listed only belong to a very specific subgenre of rock and roll when in reality there's a lot more music than just these bands that is also considered rock. Basically rock is a really dynamic type of music so the rock a
nd roll hall of fame, as a result, is also constantly changing. You would be surprised to see how closely rap music is tied to rock music. Genres don't really just appear out of nowhere one day, they always originate from somewhere and it pretty much all can be traced back to rock and roll in one way or another
tl;dr: You kinda sound like a pretentious douchebag who prides themself on listening to "real" rock music when in reality you just listed a bunch of really mainstream bands from the latter half of the 20th century.
