Day 2: Would you rather fight 5 US Marines, or 50 children? People would rather fight children!
Day 3: Would you rather die in combat, or die peacefully?

underground has a better chance of rescue but space has a better chance of contact, idk what to choose

how many feet deep underground?
if its 40~ feet underground you might aswell consider yourself roast chicken, and if it's 6~ feet under just use pieces of what you're in to dig yourself out or just let all the dirt drain in

the motive to rescue an astronaut would be much bigger than the one to rescue a lost miner somewhere so space survival rate might be higher
