--- Quote from: SeventhSandwich on June 04, 2017, 06:18:58 PM ---Using people's deaths to further your political motives is generally considered a richard move. It's like going to a friend's funeral and being like, "while we're all here, let's all talk about the evils of obesity and why Dave's burger habit caused his untimely demise." Pulling this kind of nonsense just makes you look devoid of compassion.

Well when are we gonna be able to talk about Sadiq Khan's complete bending over to terrorism in London? Is it not true that he said terror attacks are "part and parcel" of living in a big city? How can Londoners expect a guy who says stuff like that to protect them from terrorism? He basically said "forget it, this is just how it's gonna be from now on" which is complete and utter bullstuff. Every time someone tries to discuss the fact that Britain and most of Europe are bringing these terrorists into their country off of taxpayer money and doing nothing about it for fear of being called tribal or something. We all know what the issue is but no one is willing to discuss it. "using people's deaths to further your political motives"? No. It's using a tragic event to beg for a god damn discussion on the problem. It will not end until the people rise up and demand action from their politicians.

--- Quote from: LeisureSuit912 on June 04, 2017, 03:19:29 PM ---Also I don't know the "mental gymnastics" right-wingers go through to say they're the champions of equality because they don't believe in Islam. Sure, you support defunding abortion clinics and denying social services for women but it's what religion you believe in that counts.

--- End quote ---

Who the forget calls right-wingers the champions of equality? Can you stay on topic? Burn that strawman elsewhere dude
Doughboy:
sadiq khan never said that terror attacks are part and parcel of living in a big city
he said that being prepared for terrorist attacks is part and parcel of life in a big city, through funding local police, keeping the police in contact with civilians etc.

actual quote sans punditry and editorializing:

--- Quote ---The advice we've received from the police service here, is to declare business as usual. I'm not gonna speculate as to who was responsible. I'm not gonna speculate as to how the police in New York should react. What I do know, is part and parcel of living in a great local city, is you've gotta be prepared for these things, you've gotta be vigilant, you've got to support the police doing an incredibly hard job, and you've gotta support the security services, and I think speculating when you don't know the facts is unwise.
